Great alarm clock but can be boomy
Clear easy to see display with one button to change dimmer level so great for bedroom day or night. Easy to turn on and off and remembers last volume and station. Easy to change between the two alarms (great if you work shifts or for weekends.) You can plug in or use Bluetooth to play from other devices and charge them using the USB socket. Good DAB reception and great sound even at very low volumes if trying to get to sleep. It could replace a mini HiFi if space is important. Very disappointing
Having bought a Brilliant Roberts Stream 93, I bought 2 of these, choosing to believe the positive reviews over significant number of others. The concept is great, two small high/mid speakers in a smallish cabinet with a hidden base speaker to reinforce the low notes. Great functionality, Bluetooth and DAB, with a clear display but the sound is simply awful. Speech is spoilt by over emphasis of the base. Music is worse with the base speaker being over driven, even at low volumes so that every low note is accompanied by what can only be described as a ‘farting’ sound as the base is over driven. With no tone controls available to improve the situation I have returned both units. A great shame as the product could be so much better than it is.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Black magic box
Bought as a 'graded' product this item is as new. It is well built, sounds really good for something of it's size and easily responds to digital searches/tuning. Versatile and easy to use
A quick read of the instruction book and everything is traightforward to set up. I bought this to repalce a unit which didn't have bluetooth. A new phone meant that I couldn't easily link up my phone with the old unit. This solves the problem and does away unnecessary leads. The unit has a couple of alarms and can be set to wake up to a buzzer or radio etc. I like to use the timed sleep function to fall asleep to music and this is really easy to set up too. Much better than expected
Given that this was a graded product I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived and unpacked it. Absolutely no scratches or scuff marks, so clearly it had hardly been used. The sound quality for a small radio is very good, and it is very easy to operate. Compared to products costing only £10 - £15 less this one is vastly superior and definitely worth the extra few pounds.
