With his molded-on scales and detailed white paint wash, the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leatherhead figure can be a fantastic and exciting toy that looks great and can be fun to play with. This figure is based on the version of Leatherhead seen in the 2012 incarnation of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" series. According to this story line, he began his history as a normal baby alligator. Unfortunately, he was taken hostage by the Kraang, who took him to their home planet and experimented on him. He eventually broke free from their control and returned to Earth where he was befriended by the Ninja Turtles, and together they now fight the Kraang and other vicious foes. This character first appeared in a Season 1 episode of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and has returned multiple times since then. He even serves as part of the Mighty Mutanimals team. This action figure is an excellent representation of a character that is familiar to fans of the show. Measuring roughly 4 inches tall, Leatherhead is slightly bigger than the turtles in the TMNT cartoon. Once you assemble his tail, this TMNT figure is also one of the longest figures in the series. This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figure measures about 8 inches from the tip of his snout to the end of his tail. This TMNT figure is dark green with white highlights, and it is very detailed and textured. He has tough, scaly skin that is indicated on the toy by spikes going down his back. Plus, there are bumps on his snout and a crosshatch texturing on his arms and legs. Furthermore, he also bares some scars on his chest as evidence of the many battles he has fought. The patterns on the action figure's arms and legs gives the appearance of brown fabric wrapped around his wrists and ankles. His hands end in four sharp, curved claws, and there are three pointy toes on each foot. Completing Leatherhead's tough look are yellow eyes and a row of sharp, white teeth along his closed mouth. One of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' staunchest allies, Leatherhead is ready to help his friends Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello in battle. With more than five points of articulation, including his head, arms, and legs, he's prepared to fight any TMNT enemy. Even his tail can swing back and forth to knock out Kraang, Shredder, or other enemy TMNT characters. He can be durable enough stand his own during intense play sessions. This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figure can be an important part of any growing collection of Turtles action toys. Just as every collection may need a group of bad guys, like Rocksteady and Bebop, it may also need allies for the Turtles, like Leatherhead. Not only can Leatherhead pair well with other TMNT action figures, but he can also work with all of the playsets, including the TMNT Sewer Lair.
