great for larger projects
I got this to paint the ceiling and floor joists in my basement since there are so many small odd areas with wires and pipes and odd corners. It was easy to set up and get going. I particularly like the fact it can draw from any paint can even the 5 gallon sized and no need to thin the exterior grade latex paint. I had used an old Wagner years ago and it seemed like I was always filling the small container and what a mess that was. This laid waste to what I needed painted, had great coverage and minimal overspray. I was done in no time. I made one mistake and didn't have the nozzle on perfectly and paint came out a bit to aggressively. Once I tightened it, it worked great. Cleanup is and likely always will be the big unpleasant chore. I wanted to make darn sure I got it all out so I would be ready to go the next time. While it was straight forward, it took about an hour to make sure I got it 99% clean. It never all goes away. I couldn't imagine using this on a small project wth the long hose system but perhaps the included paint cup option. I haven't seen a better option out there at any price for what you get and can do. Best part if you do mess up and somehow ruin the sprayer, it isn't a $1000+ sprayer!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Pump Broke in less than 2 minuets
I purchased this item to paint a newly finished basement. I wanted to spray on a slightly thinned interior latex paint. After reading the instructions carefully, I primed the sprayer and adjusted the spray pattern according to the instructions. The sprayer did a great job for about minuet and a half. Then the pump started to make a sort of high pitch grinding sound and would no longer pump paint to the spray head. Then I noticed some sort of clear oil dripping from the bottom of the pump housing. I called the Wagner Tech line to report the problem. The person was very nice and said she would see what she could do to help me. What a nice surprise to open the box, assemble, place the long tube into my paint container and start spraying a beautiful even layer over my stucco wall. This is definitely the bargain sprayer of the year.
