A Review Just For Beginners
If you're a first timer, I have some solid advice for you. Get the Phoenix flight simulator for your pc. It WILL save you a lot of grief, glue, & tape. This plane does fly as advertised & the safety switch works as advertised too. but when you're trying to control an out of control plane, your instinct will be to try & save it until you finally crash. & the trainer mode does work as well, but once again, the sensation of being in control when either mode 1 or 2 on safe flight will quickly disappear when you turn off the safe mode & try to SOLO it straight into the ground. Fortunately, this is one tough bird & can be fixed quickly w/ glue, tape, & tooth-picks. the software comes w/ a cable that plugs directly into the transmitter that comes w/ your apprentice RTF package. & it has your exact apprentice 15 s plane built in already. So you can start practicing all of your crashes right away. Yeah your gonna crash a lot. Might as well do it on the computer first & get over with now, before you start tearing up your brand new plane. Right? I crashed & repaired mine several times before I decided to invest in the simulator software. The very next time I flew it after using the software was a perfectly comfortable & stress free fight w/ a slightly bumpy landing. Much funner & easier than before. You'll also want at least 1 extra battery. They run-down in 6-8 minutes & take hours to charge. But I'm glad I chose this as my first plane.... easy to fix & easy to fly. I've repainted it because of all the glue lines but all pics are of the Apprentice 15 s. Also I noticed that someone really hated this plane because it broke & was made of foam. Every plane that crashes breaks....... well not every single time but often. And I'd rather repair a foam plane than a balsa wood plane....much more difficult to fix in my limited opinion. I think that guy thought it would be easy & cheap.. It's just not, it requires practice & dedication. But it's worth it. I hope this review was helpful.
