Okay, Fitbit Surge better
Watch is okay. I thought it would be better that the Fitbit Surge. It is harder to setup and does not recognize activities automatically. There is no plain workout app on the watch. Keyword is app which you have to download. The watch is slow to respond when attempting to access an app. Even finding the app on the watch once installed is time consuming. Garmin Connect on your smart device has a lot of nothing. Have not found a way to trim out unwanted activities. The watch is setup for runners.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I have now owned the Garmin 235 for about 1 month and it works great. I have been using it for running in prep for my first marathon. I really like the heart rate monitor built into the watch. The watch is very accurate with GPS and heart rate. I plan on using it for biking when the weather gets better. If there is a downside, it is the software that keeps your data. I had it for a couple of months now and all that I can say is that this a huge a necessary upgrade from my Garmin HR+ that I used to use. I especially like the fact that you have different tracking options (between GPS and GPS+Glonass (much more accurate)). The customizable faces are an easy plus to the watch as well. High Quality AND Low Price!
As a runner on the market for a watch that will keep up with all the miles I put down, I needed a watch of a higher caliber. As a recent graduate, I also wanted a running watch that was reasonably priced. With the Garmin 235, I found the best of both worlds! The first run I had with it may have been questionably accurate BUT all runs subsequent to that one have been on the dot! The accuracy is great The durability is perfect- I have heard many accounts in favor of Garmin's wristband being miles better than anything the aftermarket has produced simply because of the original band's longevity. All I can say is so far, so good! As for the screen, I did not feel like taking a risk so I decided to put a screen protector on. Please be sure to do that! No matter what watch you end up purchasing, scratches will leave their undesirable mark on anything after some time! Lighter than Suunto Ambit (my old watch) and much more slim. Technology on this watch is obviously more updated than original Ambit.
