I wish I'd bought this years ago!
I have used a different brand of bread maker for many years but after the first bread I made in my new Panasonic bread maker I realised I should have changed over years ago. It is easy to use. The bread comes out very easily once baked & the end loaf is better. I have now made about 10 loaves & highly recommend this machine. long cycles
There are no options to program outside of the machines presets, so, for example, there is no option to use the nuts dispenser when baking on the "Wholemeal" setting. This is frustrating as we've just moved on from another machine that died after may years of good service that had more flexibility. It does produce a nice loaf of bread, but has very long rest period before actually starting, thereby giving a cycle of in excess of 4 hours for my wholemeal loaf (I'm used to 3:40 on my old machine). PERFECT LOAF EVERYTIME
Absolutely love this bread machine! I first used Laukie Crusty White bread mix with this machine which resulted in perfect loafs of bread if you were a giant, lol! Although the bread came out beautiful, no matter what I did with the water/ yeast/ flour quantities, the bread still came out super tall and would not fit in a regular toaster slot at all. After reading a few reviews, I decided to make the bread from scratch using Wallaby's Baker Flour and wallah - perfect sized loaf of bread!! Quantities I used were: 410g Bakers Flour, 280ml water, 1 teaspoon of yeast, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of sugar (I have now substituted with rice malt and no difference to bread) and 15g butter (this I leave in the machine overnight as put on a delayed cycle for morning and have no problems, ie. does not make me sick, lol!). Machine is very quite and easy to use/ clean. I make bread everyday and costs no more than me buying store bought bread. Only improvement I could make would be to make the pan a longer rectangle as when cutting the brad a normal thickness I get approx, 9 pieces out of it. This Panasonic Breadmaker is very popular in Australia for good reason. It is easy to set-up, maintain and use. The bread quality is excellent. I haven't had any failures. Make sure to use fresh ingredients and measure carefully. Clean-up is easy. It has a non-stick bread pan, so no metal implements! No scourers, just hot soapy water. Quite easy to use and breads are great!
Making bread is always a challenge to me. With this bread maker, my family can enjoy fresh bread everyday! If you are new to bread machine, please stick to Panasonic recipes. Breads came out were generally OK. Just be careful when you are using recipes from Asian country users. They use different Panasonic bread maker models so functions and size of bread are different. Their bread size is generally smaller and we need to adjust the volumn of ingredients to fit our machine. I think SD2501 makes good size of bread for our family.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I have been reviewing lots of bread machines and I found that Panasonic had the best reviews. I must say it is great the bread is delicious and the smell through the house is amazing. I have tried several different recipes from the book supplied and they have all baked to my expectations. I love the fact that you can set the timer and wake up or come home to freshly baked bread. Best Bread Maker for price on market.

Reliable unit, glad we bought it.
Not had this bread maker for long (about a month), but so far have made a few recipes with it according to the accompanying recipe book, and they have turned out well. Unit is easy to clean with damp cloth. I wish the included instruction manual/recipe book were made more robustly, as the pages are thin and the book is flimsy so may not last, even though it is a book that I can see myself returning to regularly.
