Quality, very few, simple parts mean that this thing lasts and lasts and is easy to maintain.
I had owned this same make and model of distiller until about ten years ago and it had lasted the ten years I had it and then it had changed hands. I very much wanted to stick with a name I trust so I bought a Megahome again. I had originally bought one because the city in which I lived had decided to fluoridate the water. I learned that the only way to effectively remove it is through distillation. The distillation process is not quick. As advertised, it takes about five to five and a half hours to distill a gallon of water. So it's best to do it overnight if you only need to do a gallon per day. But you get 100% pure water, and the residue left behind demonstrates exactly what grossness was removed. This time I'm distilling because I had used a filtered-water pitcher and although we have good water here in Portland, Oregon, I still didn't like the taste that my high-rise apartment building's plumbing adds. I'm probably a little spoiled, but I had to change the filter every two weeks because it seemed that filtrate would build up enough to make it almost taste worse than unfiltered.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

nice looking and performs well.
I like the all stainless interior and glass carafe. When filled with hot water,it distills with a stream instead of the drip. It also doesn't take as long as my old distiller. Overall I am very happy with it and hope to get many years of service from it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
