The American Gunga Din starring the Rat Pack
Three GREAT masterpeices came out in 1939 - Gone with the Wind, the Wizard of Oz, and Gunga Din. Gunga Din was a Rudyard Kipling tale of three Sargents in the British Army in Colonial India. It was a true masterpiece that ranks up there with the best movies ever made. It starred a young Cary Grant, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and Academy Award winner Victor McLaglen (look at John Wayne's side from 1940 until almost 1960). Sergeants 3 was virtually the same movie scene for scene - - - but shot as an American Western. If you watch Gunga Din, you will easily recognize this. There was a lot of wrangling in the day at the studio's over this fact. To add even more to it, the entire staring cast is recognizable as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop, Peter Lawford, and Sammy Davis, Jr.! Long time no see
