These are dish shaped flat steel pressure rings and there are normally only one or two in a bikes engine. You should never add MORE springs on a diaphragm spring set up. This can again reduce clutch slip and premature clutch wear.

    add some pressure to those worn out plates and get some extra miles, then when you install the new plates scream down the straights with 15 more lbs of spring rate... works with kevlar as well..
