Dash Camera's value in today world
It is a very compact unit and managed to get it to sit alongside my TOMTOM without blocking my view all together. There seem to be many little bits to buy so it will not "work out as designed" out of the box. I had to buy memory card, carrycase. Inbuilt charger, cigarette lighter socket, all need to be taken into consideration once you decide to buy one. There seems to be comments on "Which" about quality of pictures and whether courts accept the footage. So that was an eye opener. You get what you pay for. Manual is detailed and printed it off, so you will know how to set it up. Very clear pictures in all conditions, day and night.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Poor quality and poor instructions
Purchased a micro SD card for it, as per the quick paper instructions. Full instructions are on a CD supplied with camera. Camera would not fire up from the start. The SD port was so poor that the SD card immediately jammed in it and couldn't be removed without damaging the port. Hopeless. Threw it away in disgust. Bought for £129.99 (from eBay seller) Additional costs: 32 GB Memory card £9.99 Wiring kit and fitting from Halfords £29.99 Pros. Excellent picture quality - very clear and one of the best to make out other vehicles number plates should this be required. Better than most other cams at night Anti glare during day GPS location, Speed, Date and time shows on playback. Simple to operate. Sound recording quality is superb. Starts and turns off with ignition if wired in correctly. Rated as number 1 dash cam by which for 2016 Cons: Due to design of bracket you are unable to hide it behind your rear view mirror. Removing the memory card is awkward (but obviously you do not need to do this regularly) Overall I am very pleased with the 512G. Not cheap but does it all, and does it all well. Easy peasy
Just purchased this product recently and delivered to my home ( Co Antrim, N.Ireland) with in the outlined time.. I purchased the hard wire kit also and it was very easy to install into my 2004 Ford Mondeo. Ran the cable across the head lining, down the passenger A pillar and the fuse box is located behind the glove box. I plugged it into the fuse for air-con and used the passenger side airbag mount nut to ground the black wire with spade on the end.. The manual for the camera is downloaded as pdf easily from Internet to my mobile phone and must say to pay attention to the setup of the polarising lens using a sheet of white paper set on the dash and adjust the lens by simply turning it to until the reflection is almost gone.. I am looking forward to seeing the camera in action as I have only fitted it yesterday, it will also help to regulate my own driving while having it as evidence in case the worst happens..Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This cam is a big improvement on its predecessor. The Memory card is much easier to remove just use a ball point pen to insert and remove as apposed to a pair of pliers that is assuming you wich to keep the footage. The video quality is superb even the police are impressed. The menu is simple to use and a sound button on the back is a welcome addition for the gobby copper. the drawback is the 32gb memory limit I would have thought that with larger cards this would have been up to 64gb but I suppose this camera is designed to be left alone untill there is an incident. However I like to keep the footage if I travel out of town. So basically for the money this is the cam to have forget the cheap ones. However you must inform your insurer that you have a cam. For some strange reason some may see it as a modification and actually increase your premiums. The more sensible ones wont.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Best dash cam on the market
If you want the very best dash cam out there, then nothing really beats the 512G. Picture quality is excellent when played back through a computer, no skipped frames and even works in bright light and night-time giving readable car numberplates (virtually no other cam matches that). Also works basically out the box. Only downsides I found were the G-force sensor on "medium" setting was too sensitive for my truck, but the low setting works fine and medium (default) would be fine for most cars. Also it doesn't include an SD card oddly, but a decent 32GB one will do 4 hours recording.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy to use. I deliver new commercial vehicles. The nextbase is easy to set up if you get the correct sd card. As I found out it only uses sandisk sd cards. Nextbase should state this when anyone buys a nextbase. This would prevent anyone like me purchasing any sd card and being upset because the frames were freezing and some frames not recording. Good quality video's
My first dash cam and well pleased with the Nextbase 512G's features. Good quality recordings and it fits fairly nicely behind rear view mirror. My 12v per socket is in passenger footwell and well positioned to run and hide cables from view.
