The Panasonic DMR-EZ47 DVD Recorder comes with a slot for your SD digital image memory card, you can create a slideshow of your favourite photos taken with your digital camera on your Panasonic plasma television. Simply press a button and One-Touch-Way Copying lets you transfer material from VHS tapes to DVD discs and vice versa. During tape-to-DVD copying, there's also a handy function that reads recording start (VISS) signals on a tape and automatically creates thumbnails on the DVD discs. The Accutune Digital Tuner is a high-performance hybrid tuner capable of receiving both digital and analog broadcasts. It uses a signal processor to effectively control noise and distortion. The Accutune Digital Tuner produces a beautiful picture even under difficult reception conditions, such as when there are obstacles interfering with direct signal access. With twice the horizontal resolution (500 lines vs. the 250-line standard of many other DVD recorders) when recording in LP mode, you can fit up to four hours of recordings on one DVD 4.7GB capacity and still enjoy crisp, vibrant and exceptionally detailed images. 1080p up-conversion with HDMI converts video images to 1080p digital resolution for sharp, high-impact images. This device is multi-format-friendly, you can record to and play back just about any DVD, including DVD-R/-RW/-RAM/+R/+RW discs, as well as DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, DVD-R (dual layer), DVD+R (dual layer), CD, CD-DA and CD-R/RW (including MP3 files). Panasonic DVD recorders are equipped with a high-precision progressive video processor that handles 30-frame progressive scan images1 on NTSC discs. dissapointed
i had a panasonic combi,it had separate buttons for VHS and DVD it lasted for years, so i tried to find a replacement, but i can't find one with the features and ease of access. I THOUGHT that this model would be as good , but i was wrong, it's a good machine, good picture , auto load , but there is one feature that i thought was on it, but it is NOT, and that is, WHEN DUBBING FROM VHS to DVD , I ONLY WANTED TO TRANSFER A SECTION OF my old VHS Cassette to the DVD, i could NOT STOP and START THE COPYING, you must put in a TIMED TITLE of what you want to record.and leave it. I can get round this by using the TV which has a VHS built in , i can STOP and START when and how i like. I HAVE FULL CONTROL to copy the EXACT point and STOP exactly where i want and NOT having to chose a title.I have emailed Panasonic for a Model that has this feature.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A blend of support for the older VHS tape recorder system, newer DVD recorder system plus extra features
A very capable unit, allowing tape to DVD and vice versa copying, as well as the Viera link and FreeView Digital Video Broadcast tuning. Couldn't Be Easier To Operate
One of the earlier versions of the Panasonic Combi Recorders. I had a later model that stopped working, so had to have a good search on eBay to find an acceptable replacement. This one is a few years earlier, but in function is not much different. Many of the basic functions are here that are also found on the later versions. If you are familiar with the proceedure for converting or recording from Panasonic Models... You'll have no problems working this one out. It's more basic and also much less fuss to use. You miss out on a few detailed operations, but I think this model will be much more reliable and last a lot longer than the model I had previously that was actually newer and had more technological functions. Go basic...Go clunky... This bit of kit would survive a nuclear fall-out !!! Still records up to 8 hours, still plays on other DVD players once finalized.... Don't hesitate, if you find one of these on eBay or elsewhere on your travels... BUY IT!!!

Great VHS/DVD Recorder.
These type of recorder are no longer manufactured so to obtain one it can only be second hand. This was advertised as in very good condition complete with original remote control and most importantly, a good original instruction book which has proved to be invaluable. The recorder looks to be almost like new and so does the remote control. Everything is working fine, the TV channels are are picked up well and it records VHS tapes onto DVD (which is what I mainly bought it for) with excellent results, especially when used on the best picture quality setting of "XP". I suppose buying any old electrical goods is a bit risky but you have to take a chance and in this instance I am very happy with my purchase (Incidentally, I have owned two of these machines before from new, (a Daewoo - still working but now doggy and a Philips - not used much and now useless) and whilst they all work roughly on the same principle, the Panasonic would have been difficult to set up and use without the instruction book.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great for digitising VHS and Camcorder tapes onto DVD
Great for digitising VHS and Camcorder tapes onto DVD. If transferring camcorder tapes you would need to have a camcorder to vhs adaptor which you would need to purchase separately. Not only does it record these onto DVD it somehow upscales the quality of the tape once it is in digital form on the dvd. Once on DVD if you wish to copy this to your computer and make it a digital computer file, then this can be done as long as you have enough memory on your computer to store the file.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
