The Tycoon Pack from Scholastic gives kids ages eight and up a look at the world of business management. The pack includes Moon Tycoon, Deep Sea Tycoon, Mall Tycoon 2 Deluxe, and School Tycoon. Moon Tycoon requires pint-size developers to create and maintain a successful moon colony by listening to advisors, mining resources, recovering from natural disasters, and nurturing industry. There are 50 buildings to place in the colony, such as spaceports, energy plants, shops, and research facilities. Children will play through 30 missions that test their management abilities. Deep Sea Tycoon lets kids discover the ocean from the comfort of their computer chairs. Tycoons can build an environmentally conscious undersea world filled with animals, or a bustling hub for treasure hunters. Players have 100 buildings to choose from, including a dolphin petting zoo and a whale sanctuary. Players build their colonies while trying to complete 75 missions. Three levels of difficulty are designed to allow a challenging experience for any age. Mall Tycoon is designed to teach kids about marketing and advertising while they build and maintain a successful shopping heaven. Two game modes let kids play freely, building the mall of their dreams with a maximum of nine floors, or work through 20 mall building scenarios. Watching customers' wants and needs, mall makers decide which of the 450 available stores to feature, and what kinds of promotions will draw in the most people. In School Tycoon players try to make the grade running a school full of A-plus students. Pretend principals can choose what kind of students will fill their school from the 80 available custom selections, and then build mini-golf courses and skate parks to increase the student approval rating. Players can build their own school in a sandbox mode, or take the 20-scenario challenge that separates the one-room schoolhouse from the elementary education edifice.
