Never under estimate the importance of correct spring rates.
I had been struggling to find fork springs that would work with my YSS PD valves (cartridge emulators). The ones supplied with the PD valves were too firm for my weight and the progressive ones I had been using previously did not work satisfactorily either (going straight from too soft to too firm). Fitting linear springs that had been calculated for my application transformed the ride and handling (once the correct preload was determined).

best upgrade for sv650.
Direct swap for original as it is the same length but with a much higher spring rate so don't have to cut the spacers. The improvement in ride quality is incredible which directly translates into better braking and cornering.
