An ode to yesterday...
I read another review that said they were looking for a history of the Byzantine Empire and was disappointed with this offering. This IS a history of that empire but not a specific year by year telling. This is a love poem! A somber telling of past times lost, an ode to yesterday. But through the telling of the story you do learn the history of the Byzantine Empire and of it’s passing. This is how history should be told, in a entertaining fashion that can draw you into the telling. Simply put this is great!
