    Bluetooth for old Civic

I drive a Old Honda Civic 2004. Problem is that I used an FM transmitter and the static was unbearable. So I did my research and found this device. I will be honest, I was hesitant about this device due to the fact that i doubted it would work. But it worked first time after installing this device and connecting it to the CD changer that I do not have in my car. The device itself is really lovely and it seems to have no issue connecting to the device. You can use the radio controls to change tracks which is a bonus. The packaging is in a small bag so it’s really not that big at all. It comes with instruction but installing wise, I had to do my own research on how to access the backside of the radio. Also it has an AUX input as well which is really nice for those who do not want to use Bluetooth at all. So you get beat of both worlds. The device itself is placed in the glovebox compartment until I find a more permanent solution to place the device but for now it’s in the glove box. It does come with a microphone which is connected and inside the glovebox. As a temporary solution. The price wise could be lower but to make it a bit more affordable but it’s a minor price to pay comparing a one off change to convert an old stereo into a Bluetooth device. This is a highly recommended device for old Civic that does not have a CD changer unit and for those who just do not like static on their FM transmitter. A huge game changer.

  • Most critical review

    Reasonable product, poor instructions

Simple enough to install, once you have access to the back of your head unit. Instructions are far from comprehensive, but you can muddle through. Had a few problems streaming from Spotify, but i think that was Spotify's problem. Using practically any other app worked fine.

  • Nice product. Good build quality. Great price. Works as described. Nice

Very happy with it. Sound quality excellent. Interoperability with steering wheel buttons is good. Would be nice if input would change to phone for incoming call but for the price, I can't really complain.

  • Not cheap but easy to fit and set up.

Straight forward to fit (kit is vehicle specific so has correct wiring) and works well. Only negative, as another reviewer noted, it would be nice to have the radio display show "telephone" or something similar when the phone is in use.

  • Quite expensive but a great quality item for adding Bluetooth to my 07 Civic

Excellent unit to provide missing Bluetooth functionality to my MK8 2007 Honda Civic. Great sound quality for music and calls and integrates with the stock stereo very well with steering wheel controls. It's a bit of a pain to install due to the awkward stereo in the Civic but works great once installed and has saved me the great cost of buying an aftermarket stereo. It is quite expensive for what it is but does work well so I recommend it.

  • Yes it does work!!

I was a bit skeptical about this especially as the connects 2 website didn't have any official info on its use in my FRV. But yes it does indeed work. Crystal clear Bluetooth connection with stalk control integration! So now I can listen to and control Spotify on my iPhone 6. Thoroughly recommended. My car had the standard cd radio. 2005 2.2ctdi

  • Great value, easy fit . Plush and play

Fitted it in 30 minutes. Plug and play, no cutting wires. Connects to Bluetooth immediately once ignition is activated. Good sound quality, good phone transmission quality. Small unit, easy to place in the centre console, charges phone from USB. Used with iPhone 7. Operates from steering wheel commands

  • Exellent quality sound

Fitted to a Honda civic fn2 with the GPS fitted - this requires a Y splitter for the cd changer port which is available on ebay. Works well. My only issue is that by default the volume defaults to 0 when connecting by bluetooth, so you cant just jump in the car and have everything just go like you can with other systems.

  • Ford stereo upgrade

Great upgrade for an older stereo, it is simple to install just plug and play. It mentions ford Fiester in it's description, this should be removed and stick to the radio model numbers as I purchased it for a transit van.

  • Simple yet effective

Our Civic had a factory iPod adapter that gave up on us, so after a bit of Googling, I went with this little beauty. Installation is a bit of a faff, having to take the centre console out to get to the back of the head unit, but once installed, it works really well. The phone quality is decent enough and the sound from the music being streamed is good too. My only criticism (and it’s a small one) is that the volume needs to be set quite high on the head unit, compared to the radio. Still, it’s cheaper than the other option of a double din unit.
