light weight and easy to use:
The reason I went for the new Studiomaster XS 8 is I had the older version with 6 inputs as we as a Cabaret band needed them as we played guitars used a drum machine and a mini disc player (if there was no backing in some of the venues we played in) The other 2 inputs were used for our mikes: The XS 8 was as I expected all effects were excellent and easy to use the only let down I found was it can't take an echo on/off pedal and was a bit let down when I tried the low impedance input on No: 1 and found it was dead. I needed it to use on delivery so used the high input for my mini disc and the mikes in 2,3 & 4. I did report this fault on the revue hence the 4 stars sorry about that. A bit different
If you use powered speakers with this mixer you have to turn the gain right down to a minimum on them because you need to turn the gain up on the input mixer channels past half way to get the PFL lights to move up to a recording volume. Also the recording comes out as an MP3 stereo single track not as separate tracks for each instrument as I originally thought. The instruction manual is minimal and the only video I can find on YouTube just tells you what all the switches do.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
