Small but perfectly capable
Bought this to replace my 17 year old Toshiba DVD player which refused to die but lacked HDMI connectivity. Particularly wanted to retain a coaxial digital audio-out, which was primarily what attracted me to this unit. It is tiny by comparison to the old Toshiba, but the picture is better and it plays Blurays. NB. Ex-display model?
Plays CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays but will not connect to the internet for streaming. Using the easy (automatic) setup on the device did not result in internet connection via the wired link to my router. This link worked fine with laptop, TV viewer, etc. Performed a factory reset then tried again. Same outcome. Used the advanced menu to manually input the required data. Same outcome. Obtained latest software upgrade from internet onto USB and uploaded to device. Same outcome. I visited Sony's technical support which consists of useful online instructions but no provision to indicate or suggest that there may be a fault with the device. At this point, given the time I had wasted, the low cost (just over £30) of the product and the low priority the internet connection from this device was for me, I decided to keep it as a disc player.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

This Product is a 5 Star Product. It is very Small and can fit anywhere beside the T.V., its also very light in weight. It is also very easy to use to play Blu- Rays etc. but best of all you can play Region A, B , C Discs from around the world , and also DVD Regions 1 - 8 from around the world. Good disk spinner. Smart functions limited
Disks load fast and the operation is very quiet. It's a very small machine too so it doesn't take up too much space amongst all the other devices people have under their tellies. Hooking it up is a doodle since there's only one HDMI out to concern yourself with. Menus are self explanatory and the remote, though small, it's nice to hold with a cleft on the back so you can tell which way is the front if you're using it in the dark. The app selection is disappointing though. YouTube, BBC iPlayer, Amazon Prime and Netflix being the only useful ones. None of the other UK stations are represented, or Now TV. The player is very easy to set up plug in mains ,and connection my case hdmi cable,and the unit is literally ready play. Sound and picture quality are excellent, Unit is well designed no dials, or knobs to catch, a compact player,faily light but gives excellent performance.. Light weight easy to use
