Quality units but worry about durability of on-off switches
The on off switch is very different from previous versions of the same model. The toggle switches on these units seem rather fragile.Time will tell if they hold up . . . . That is the reason for my giving it a 3 star rating because criterion for 4 stars is "better than expected", and I can not say that. Great instruments for the money
Both work great and are worth the money. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it does not sturdy in your hands like the professional ones (as expected since they are only a fraction of the price). Perfect for NP student
Was looking for a set for my health assessment class as a nurse practitioner student. Didn’t need anything fancy and it has been the perfect set! Easy to use, compact, great that it comes with extra otoscope tips. I bring it to all my cliniclas and use it frequently. Definitely recommend.

Not up to Welch Allyn standards
I have been using Welch Allyn products for 35 years and found them to be of high quality and quite excellent for my medical practice. This particular product, however, seem to be of low quality- not up to the standards of Welch Allyn at all. The materials that the product was made from seemed to be cheap and of poor quality. Lightweight but solid.
I have very little experience using Otoscopes and Opthalmoscopes so I am not sure I am the best critic. However, with my limited experience, I feel these are quality tools. I purchased these as I am enrolled in an FNP program and they were a requirement for my program. It was recommended that I purchase an inexpensive set as I will most likely be working in an office or facility that supplies them. I also volunteer as a disaster health services nurse and plan to continue in this roll after school. These are lightweight enough that I can pack them in my travel bag and battery operated so I can use them in situations where there aren't many resources (such as electricity). Useful if you need it in your pocket with you, but not as well made as the standard size Welch Allyn Otoscope/ Ophthalmoscopes.
