Excellent toaster

Ok but has serious issues.
Generally quite pleased with the toaster but it certainly has some issues. I have played around with the settings for some time trying to get the level of toasting that I like. This is difficult because the control knob has numbers on a scale that are so small they are impossible to read. You have to pick the toaster up and carry it to a light source and tilt it to have any chance of seeing what level you have selected. Also the knob itself has a very small indistinct mark that you are supposed to line up with the numbers that you cannot see. Because of this it is trial and error until you get what you want. Once this is done it produces acceptable toast. Not great toast as there is a clear difference in toast colour one each side of the slice. One side consistantly darkens the toast more than the other. I would say not much work went into the design of the toaster.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

worth saving up to buy

Want can I say, well this toaster has to be the holy grail of toasters...at last a toaster that has capacity to fit tall bread in, even the odd slice of unsliced loaf cut an inch thick...no problem. 😀 The controls are easy to understand and it has many other functions....I like the what I call the peek-a-boo function....where you can simply raise the the handle to take a look at how he bread is doing. The element inside heats up quickly and evenly and every part of the element works unlike other inferior toaster which toast partially. The stainless casing in easy clean and it looks quite futuristic as its sits easily amongst my other kitchen gadgets. I use it everyday sometimes twice...in the morning for brekkie and when I fancy a quick no fuss snack in the evening. We'll done Breville From Steego. Deep enough but toasting slightly uneven.
It's nice and deep as advertised, the two inner heating elements are not as hot so bread needs to be turned around if you want evenly done sides. Not sure how low to turn the control knob to stop burning, down to 2 at the mo. seems OK. Disappointed is understatement!!!!
This toaster is terrible.it toasts bread very unevenly.one side pale other side dark.it seems to have a mind of its own .very hit and miss .not at all what I expected of an expensive Brand 2 slices toaster at nearly £30 !!!!!! A rip off 😡Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Patchy toast
Thought this was ace on first use but now I have very patchy toast, burst in places just coloured in others. This is such a shame as although much slower than my old toaster (dualit) it fits in a full slice of bread and wide enough slots for crumpets (mmmm!). Toasts larger sized sliced bread evenly and quickly too! Toasts tea cakes, but need to turn down the browning level slightly, as the tea cakes are thicker. We use level 2 for toasted bread, and this gives a lovely golden toast. Would recommend this toaster.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
