great idea
This is a great idea and I would give it 5 stars except the radio I use needed full volume so that I could hear it. Maybe an MP3 or similar would be more sensitive and it's me not using it properly. I remember seeing a note in the packing saying it is not a speaker, not quite sure what that means, but I find it an excellent pillow better than what I had so I win both ways.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great idea.
This is ideally a great item. It arrived sooner than expected and is considerably cheaper than the same item from other sellers on here. Unfortunately there are a couple of things that make it lose a *. The first is the volume. It's ok with music, but if like myself and my son you like to listen to audio books, even with the volume turned to max on whichever gadget you are using, it is still very quiet and difficult to hear. My son gave up on it quickly, in order to hear it he had to press his head down and keep it there and he still couldn't hear most of it. I persevered and found it to be s bit of a struggle but once I found a position, it was just loud enough to hear. The pillow itself is very comfortable and you can't feel the speaker when your laying on it. It would have gained an another * if it was bluetooth, as the wire takes a bit of fiddling to get a connection. Good for music, not so hot for speech
I bought this for my wife who has trouble sleeping and frequently uses relaxation tapes. She has good hearing and comments that if music is playing there is good quality sound but as she mostly listens to speech and therapists are generally quite softly spoken she cannot get enough volume for easy listening, even with ipod turned to max. volume. Pillow with a speaker in
This is a pillow with a small speaker inside. It is not amazing, it is what it is. The speaker was towards one end but a bit of shaking and fluffing moves it about a bit. On full yolume from an iPhone it is clearly audible to others in the bed. Set about halfway and lying directly on top of the speaker only the person using it can hear it but you need decent hearing. Not a bad alternative to headphones, definitely more comfortable, pillow is a decent quality if a bit thin. It works as long as you don’t move too much. Could do with a volume control on the wire so you don’t have to muck about with your music source. That’s about it, hope this helps someone. Ok for the price
Sound is very quiet, only one speaker close to wire. The wire is of a reasonable length to connect to a phone etc on a bedside cabinet. Although that does concern me, a long wire in a bed? Not a great idea, especially for kids. Bluetooth would be a far better option. However for the price it's not bad I guess especially given how expensive the more advanced models on the market are. I bought one of these for myself as I like to listen to music when going to sleep, earphones are ok but get a bit annoying after a while. Great idea, comfortable pillow
This comfortable pillow contains a small speaker which is connected to your radio/MP3 via a good length cable. You have to have the volume turned up higher than you would for normal speakers to obtain the desired level, but that's up to your own taste in volume.
