The best metallic paint I could find.

I looked at the reviews on youtube and that's how I found out about this paint. I just tested it on an empty soda bottle and the results are impressive, it's more reflective than any other "chrome" paint I've ever seen. However, the paint comes off easily with gentle rubbing. It is not good for anything that may be touched, such as a part on a car, a little bit will come off every time you rub a sponge on it. Even the can warns that it is "not recommended for exterior use". But it works if you want to paint the inside of a clear plastic object, such as a transparent RC car body.

    Small cans for high price

First off, I thought these cans were full sized, since they cost so much. I guess I missed that part in the description, so that's my fault. The paint actually I was told was the best for a chrome like finish, but I'm finding out that it isn't as good as I was told, I have found much better since I bought these 3 cans, and at a much lesser price and larger can. So I would say these cans are just okay. I wish I had a better experience, I wouldn't recommend these for the price. They are just okay in my opinion.

  • As described

Today was 95 degrees and sunny...my bald head, combined with the mirror like finish (along with a clear coat), I managed to fool the laws of physics and do one of those laser things from the movie Real Genius, bouncing a beam off my head. Lazlo appeared from the closet and we proceeded to make a giant Jiffy-Pop popcorn for the neighborhood. True story.

  • Not for everyone..

This paint is not for everyone. it's not intended to be used outside and it really can't be coated with a clear coat without destroying it's shine. (Even the clear coat they make will change how it looks) However, that being said, if you use it properly it will give you an amazing finish. For my project I sprayed it on the back of some clear Plexiglass and it gives the appearance of a mirror on the other side. I use a CNC to etch reverse graphics in the plastic and once sprayed the image on the opposite side looks amazing. If you spay Spaz Stix first and then etch you can even highlight your graphics with a different color. Note: you must still protect the back side or you can easily scratch off the mirror finish. I've used both gloss black and gloss clear coat and either one will work.

  • overrated

Despite its title and good reviews on youtube, this product does not produce any chrome like finish whatsoever. I did start with a smooth metal surface, applied a coat of Testors enamel black gloss. I then applied Spaz Stix in several light coats, as directed. When no shiny surface appeared I tried light buffing with wool and the paint came right off. Like all other chrome wannabe paints this paint produces a flat silver finish that does not reflect. And, it will not take a top coat of clear enamel to protect it. It was a waste of money. I only needed to touch up the edge of a chrome finish aluminum frame 1/8" wide by 1" long and it seemed unreasonable to invest in a $400 chrome plating process for such a small project.

  • Good product

Used it on damaged chrome rims. Probably looks better than expected. Not perfect but no paint looks like polished chrome. Will use again if needed.

  • Problem seeing dash lights

Had problem with seeing my dash lights at night on my 87 Chevy truck. Took cluster out and painted areas with recommended black and Mirror chrome spaz to enhance lighting. Huge diff. Highly recommend.

  • Give it a clear coat

If you use this product to paint a part or model etc. wait till it dries then spray it with clear acrylic otherwise it will rub off. I had success doing that. That’s why it’s intended use for mirrors requires a protective backing sprayed over it so it doesn’t rub off the glass.

  • Great Product

Spaz Stix Ultimate Mirror Chrome is simple to use and gives great results. I use Spaz Stix to "chrome" plastic model car parts. It's very shiny and it doesn't hide intricate details. Follow the directions and you will get great results. I didn't rate the product as durable, as it will rub off with handling. That fact doesn't alter my rating of excellent for Spaz Stix Ultimate Mirror Chrome.

  • compelling content indeed

Actually has a mirror finish if you do it right. One thing I've learned, sometimes a white background works better than the recommended black primer. Also, try to get both the paint and the item to be sprayed at around 75 degrees (F). Leaving them both in the sun for a couple of hours does the trick. If you're looking for "chrome finish" from ANY other manufacturer you'll most likely end up getting a metallic gray at best. I've been searching for a finish like this for years. This stuff actually reflects like a mirror. FINALLY!!! Awesome stuff but be frugal or your new project will end up being pretty pricey.
