Does exactly what it's supposed to
I have a 2005 Renault Grand Scénic, on which the electronic parking brake hadn't worked for over a year. I'd already replaced the cables and relay but the unit was still dead. After taking it apart again, I found the original motor had no brushes left at all, the brush holders were badly worn away, and the commutator was deeply pitted and scored. So I ordered one of these motors to replace it. It's not identical to the original, the separate rubber end cap won't fit and there's no fitting for the black wire, which I assume is for RF shielding. However, after I installed it, reassembled the unit and fitted it to the car, my parking brake works perfectly! I still have a "check parking brake" error on the dashboard, but at this stage I assume it's a stored error code from the previous failure, and I am currently trying to find someone with a Renault-compatible diagnostic tool to clear the error. Up to this point it's cost me about £140 for the cables, motor and relay, so definitely cheaper than a new unit, and I know it should last unlike a secondhand one of unknown condition.
