This bleak feature from Finland concerns Koiskinen, a night watchman in Helsinki. With no social life, this solitary figure becomes instantly smitten when a stunning blonde agrees to go a date with him. Little does he know, she's connected to a conman looking for someone to frame. Koiskinen tragically ends up doing time, but strangely enough leaves jail after two years with a new purpose and a new appreciation for life.

    Another Kaurismaki classic

    Buying this completed my Kaurismaki collection, and I really enjoyed the film. It has that Kaurismaki feel,as a working man struggles with his lot, until he meets his femme fatale.
