    Never seems to date

    I think I am biased but I still like the earlier series best of all because they include the original characters who really make New Tricks work. There is just the right mixture of gentle comedy and serious detective work. Watching New Tricks is not too demanding but is sufficiently gripping to hold attention. I have enjoyed revisiting this series. I had almost forgotten how good it was!
