IN MY TOP TEN MOVIES I LOVE.
JUST LOVED IT!!!. I have been buying 3d movies for five years, and this is one I truly loved. Lots of imagination went into this fast-moving movie, it has a spiritual base, with the good over evil undertone. Great 3D blu ray! Amazing!
My top three 3D blu rays to date: Hansel and Gretel, Dr. Strange and Guy Ritchie's King Arthur, in that order. (LG OLED 65E6P) Have seen hundreds of 3D films, and this is among the best of the best. The crazy folding/morphing of Manhattan in 3D is mind-blowing. After seeing it in 3D, could never watch it in 2D again. The layering and depth of that amazing sequence in particular just can't be appreciated flat. So much excellent dimension throughout this film! The theme material (inter-dimensional travel, morphing of reality, etc.) is tailor-made for 3D! Other reviews will explore the great story, acting and characters, but if you're on the fence wondering if this is a good film to buy in 3D blu ray, you won't be sorry. Different Than I Expected But, Very Good
I expected this movie to head in a different direction than it did. Since it's a Marvel movie I knew it was a super hero type and thought that Dr. Strange would become a hero to all who have been neglected medical treatment, would have a person in their corner and be a fighter for corruption. Wow! was I off the mark and actually feel pretty dumb about it. It turns out to be this mystical spiritual sorcery themed adventure. After I got over my surprise of the theme, I settled in and really enjoyed the movie. In fact now that I know the theme of the movie, I'll watch it again and I'm sure I'll catch information I may have missed.
