About this product

Product Information

An alien technological virus, the Phalanx, has invaded Earth, cloning everything in its path and assimilating it into one entity. But who can even attempt to try and contain such a seemingly invincible enemy? The X-Men, of course!

In X-Men 2: Clone Wars, take control of one of six different X-Men as you battle through seven stages of X-citing action. After the game's third level, the X-Men's chief nemesis Magneto's space station Avalon, you can even take control of the Master of Magnetism as you try to stop the seemingly unstoppable force that is the Phalanx.

Each X-Man has his or her own special attacks, very faithful to the comic on which the game is based. Cyclops has optic blasts; Gambit throws kinetically charged cards as he wields his staff; Nightcrawler can teleport from one side of the screen to the other; Psylocke wields her katana blades, using her psychic knife when appropriate; Wolverine slices through anything that gets in his way with his adamantium claws, his healing factor kicking in when his health gets low; and Magneto can defy gravity as he shoots magnetic bolts at those foolish enough to confront him.

So it's time to shoot those optic blasts. Time to unsheathe those retractable claws. Time to kill with magnetism. It's time to play X-Men 2.

One of the best Xmen Games

A Sega Genesis Classic, Xmen 2: Clone Wars has vastly improved gameplay and graphics from the first. Each character has their own moveset and abilities that favor them in any particular stage. The story is interesting and involves many characters from the comic book. The soundtrack is very good and the fact that each character has their own music effect in certain stages is good too. The game is challenging enough to be a formidable game to play but it is very fun to play too. One player games are better because the frame rate slows significantly in two player games. Also, 2 player simultaneous platforming isn't recommended. Overall this is a great game to get whether or not you are an xmen fan.

    Good nostalgic game

Nice game with some of your favourite mutants to play as (including Magneto). The game is a basic side scrolling action game with some difficult boss fights.

  • A+ X-Men game. Still holds up today! SEGA!!!!!

I remember renting this game in the 90s, then buying it later. Sold it, now got it again. It's definatly a must have for SEGA. this and the first X-men are better than super nintendo children of the atom in my opinion. You can use beast, magneto, psylocke, and the same character from the first x-men. It has great sound, graphics, stages, music, and bosses.

  • One of the greatest "Kick Ass" games of all-time!

Whether it's with Wolverine, Cyclops, Gambit, Beast, Nightcrawler, or Psylocke this game kicks so much ass in soooooooooooo many ways. Unlimited use of mutant powers...uh-oh you messed up when you gave me that ability in this game, Headgames. That's right, Sega only published this game, Sega did not develop it. Each character has a "mutant power attack" which can be used in combat. Unlike the preceding game, there is no energy bar that limits the amount of mutant power attacks a player can use. Some of the mutant attacks can be charged to a greater effect by holding down the power button. The attacks increase in power when the character has nine or ten bars of health and can perform different functions if the character is in the air. And no I'm not telling you who the unlockable character is, for all of you gamers out there who have never played this game or know nothing about it. No spoilers in this rant. In conclusion this is one of, if not the greatest X-men game of All-Time, on a console for certain.
