The iRobot Roomba uses robot intelligence to calculate the best cleaning path, get under furniture, and hug walls to catch all of the dust, dirt, and pet hair in its path. There are two cleaning modes that this robot vacuum uses to clean a room. In the Clean Mode, the vacuum automatically determines the size of the room and adjusts the total time to sweep it appropriately. In the Spot Mode, this unit intensely cleans a specific area using a spiral motion within a three-foot diameter. Robots like this are able to sense stairs and other drops so that they do not take a tumble. This series of vacuums automatically adjust to different types of flooring, including wood, tile, linoleum, carpet, and vinyl so that the brushes easily sweep up debris. This red, robotic vacuum comes with a non-APS battery that takes a short seven hours to achieve a full charge. Just plug in the standard charger and let it go. Make sure to charge this device using only a 120-volt AC outlet to ensure safety during the charging process. Users can also purchase additional batteries so they always have one charged and ready. When storing off of the charger, remove the battery to prolong its life. Once it has a full charge, the power indicator will be a solid green. The 16-Hour Refresh Charge is a special feature on these models that help to extend the battery life. It is easy to tell when this model is charging using the 16-Hour Refresh Charge because the "Clean" button will pulse quickly. It takes this model of the iRobot Roomba approximately 25 minutes to go through and sweep an average room. It goes over the floor several times to ensure all debris gets picked up. Using a Virtual Wall helps to promote the most efficient cleaning, as well as removing all unnecessary clutter. These walls are battery-powered, so users can easily place them throughout their home to contain their vacuum to a specific area for cleaning. To adjust the barrier length, all someone has to do is use the slider bar on the virtual wall units. There are several different virtual walls to choose from, depending on the size of someone’s home and their overall cleaning needs. Users can obtain an optional remote control to operate their Roomba quickly and easily. It allows for all of the functions on the actual vacuum unit to be used without ever touching the robot. With a remote, users can also schedule when the vacuum should start its cleaning cycle. This type of vacuum is easy to care for and maintain. Users should clean the brush parts of the unit and empty the bin that collects the debris after each cleaning cycle. This prevents buildup so that the robot continues to clean efficiently.
