  • Excellent but ....

This device works well, however the latest version of the driver for it is for windows 8. This driver does not install on windows 10 without some fiddling. It is possible to do this using a patch which is open source, and temporarily allowing unsigned drivers on Win 10 is necessary to allow this. Search Youtube/Google on how to. Without a properly installed proprietary Roland driver, the device doesn't do anything at all ... not even the lights come on. The device claims 96k sample rate, however this is in a special mode and so far I have found this inconvenient, If fully functional 96k is an absolute necessity, then this device may not be what you want. So much for the negatives, Using this on a Dell Laptop with an i5 processor, spendid sound quality, good quiet pre-amps, phantom power and rugged construction, and quite portable. Very usable low latency, and low latency MIDI. Headphone monitors high quality. I haven't tried digital in, but out performed as expected. I'll qualify all the above with, "it's early days yet!", However, so far so good. Haven't tried it on Android or Mac. If you can drop on one of these units at a reasonable price then recommended. A little technical research is necessary however to get it to work with anything after Windows 8.
