The Sony Mini Disc MDS-JE440 Player/Recorder is an excellent way to recorder sound because it is easy to do and is of high quality sound. It is also easy to delete tracks and to change the order of tracks on the disc. It is not difficult to name each track or give the disc a title. It is a bit more basic than some mini disc player/recorders because you can not listen to the sound through headphones. Also you can not attach a computer keyboard in order to write titles more easily as you can with some mini disc player/recorders. Despite this it produces good quality recordings and is much more user friendly than cassette player/recorders. It is a pity that mini disc player/recorders are no longer produced.
i converted all my old vinyl and compact cassettes to mini discs with a sony je 480 deck bought from comet sadly (now defunct) when they became very popular, sadly the 2 je 480s i had went to md heaven, the i saw a sony je 440 md same quality but a different layout i bought one on ebay liked it and surfed for a second . thank the lord for ebay
This does all the usual MD things, and is good enough to suit most mainsteam hifi systems. Sound quality is not the best but given the sort of system in which this will be used it should sound fine.
It has LP2 and LP4 modes and is reasonably easy to use. The remote is comprehensive.
If you want a cheap, versatile recorder this should suit.
