makes a whirring noise [normal]
Good machine for playing. But important to know that when recording with a microphone , it will pick up the mechanical noise of the machine. This is normal according to sony. This model has a mechanism that creates a 'whirring ' noise as if it is recharging the system or battery?[ As this operates on a single AA I might be onto something there!] Any way i discovered this when attempting to recording an interview for a documentary film i was Directing. I also make sound effects for theatre use, so it is important to me. Having said that if you are recording from a line input it is fit for purpose.
