In “Digimon World: Dawn,” gamers begin as a member of the Light Fang team in the Sunshine district. After an earthquake with unknown life energy rocks the environment and causes many of the creatures to devolve into Digi-eggs, it is up to you to figure out what happened to them and restore the city. This game for the Nintendo DS platform features a storyline that entwines the plots of two separate characters and journeys.A member of the RPG genre of games, players fight with and capture characters in a digital world. To do this, the player becomes a Digimon Tamer, making friends with the Digimon they encounter in the game. Players can recruit wild Digimon or raise their own from Digi-eggs to progress through the game, defeating enemies and bosses. Best of all, players can trade with friends that own Digimon World to gain unique items and monsters. Collect, train, and battle with more than 400 creatures from eight different species.In “Digimon World,” players raise a single character at a time, putting all of their training and resources into that monster. As they do so, the monster grows and needs food, exercise, rest, and waste disposal to grow up optimally. Monsters who are resting or otherwise not engaged in battle relax in the central city, playing and working with other tamed monsters. There are many creature types, including dark, spirit, beast, dragon and others, each one with its own advantages. Players must search through the world to find feral Digimon to attack while also maintaining a strong defense against attack. Players also work to change the monster's DNA to modify its skills and abilities. Help monsters to evolve from Rookie form to Champion and Ultimate forms. In the end, the player confronts Analogman, who is the final boss at the end of the story.Dawn makes extensive use of the Nintendo DS's features. Players trade information and monsters via the Nintendo StreetPass feature as well as swap playable monsters using the wireless transfer system. Players also connect to the internet for new monsters and trading. There are unique, rare monsters in this game’s environment. Enjoy the challenge of trading for dark and spirit monsters with your friends. Use the map to see your current location and the location of the dungeons. As you explore each environment, you earn cash and experience to improve the effectiveness of both your character and its digital monsters. “Digimon World: Dawn” is an excellent take on the RPG genre with lots of dungeons to explore, creatures to encounter, and relationships to develop both within the world and with other players. It uses the wireless connectivity of the Nintendo DS system to enhance the overall gaming experience. Players have lots to do in the digital city of the game, in both the story and playing against others via the internet.
