It's often difficult to get the paddle off the spindle after baking, but you learn the knack. Also, the bearing under the pan doesn't last as long as you'd expect, so you have to buy a new pan, which costs nearly as much as an entire second-hand machine. However, it's easy to use and makes bread well, and is still good value even with replacements, so we've had three over many years.
