It worked as soon as I plugged it in, without internet
I bought it for an elderly gentleman. Unfortunately, he is in hospital now so he is not able to use it. I tried it out with his TV before I left it in his flat. It doesn't need internet. It works as soon as I turned it on, it started to search for channels and it helps the TV give a very clear picture. Bad purchase !!!!
Bought this, as I do not have a satalite dish, on connecting up it would only show 67 channels, and picture would freeze, this property already had a freeview box and worked perfectly, up to 150 channels, but the owners took it with them,. On switching off at nighttime, in standby mode was o.k. but in the morning, would not switch back on again with remote control, had to pull out the plug on the back and then put it back in again to make it work, as to-date, am still having to take it out and put it back again every day, as I only connected this box 2weeks after purchase, it would have been outside of my 14 days to send it back, so, because of the price, have unfortunately have to keep it and save up for a more reliable boxVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Freeview box
Manhattan is becoming one of the best Freeview boxes out there. This is my 2nd one for a bedroom, it has great picture and sound quality, and the menu's are easy to follow, the box is also very quick when using the remote control. Great so far done channel scan got 147 channels so far so good but watching BBC after a hour or so BBC stop BBC HD stating your not a SKY or Virgin customer makes you think BBC has no shares in Freeview !!
