About this product

Product Information

Alex Kidd in Miracle World is a video game produced by Sega for the Sega Master System II console. It was released in 1986. The game was exceptionally well-received, getting a very high rating from most reviewers at the time. Because of its popularity, Sega decided they would build the Alex Kidd games into Master System consoles rather than include the game separately as a pack-in. As such, few cartridge games were made. As it is built into most Master Systems, cartridge versions are very hard to find. It is thus highly sought-after by the Sega Master System community as a rare collectible. The plot of Alex Kidd in Miracle World centers around Alex Kidd trying to rescue his family and members of his homeland, Radaxian, who have been turned to stone by Janken the Great, who also kidnapped the royal family. Alex, a master of the Shellcore school of martial arts, learns he is a member of the Radaxian royal family and that it is his duty to liberate his people from their stone prisons. To do this, he must obtain a large number of magical artifacts as well as defeat the many evil minions that have infested his homeland. In doing so, he can free the captured Royals and retrieve the Golden Crown, which enables him to reverse the evil spell.Alex Kidd in Miracle World is in the arcade platforming genre. Players will be playing as the titular Alex Kidd, who must defeat the evil Janken the Great. Players must fight through 17 stages in the land of Miracle World. Along the way, there will be assorted enemies to fight as you progress to the final boss, Janken himself. It is necessary to be careful when traversing Miracle World because many types of blocks and stones can release evil spirits or hidden enemies.Alex can attack by punching, which he can also use to break rocks and obtain in-game currency. Such currency can be used to purchase motorcycles and helicopters that enable Alex to move around the level faster or access otherwise inaccessible areas. Alex can also spend 400 units of in-game currency to restart a level after running out of lives using a secret code on the title screen. At the end of each level, players must confront a mini-boss who challenges them to a round of rock-paper-scissors. Players must win before continuing. The game focuses heavily on exploration, encouraging the player to search everywhere and break every rock. The cartridge stores information about the player's discoveries, enabling them to know if there are still more things for them to find.Players have no time limit and can advance through each stage at their own pace. This encourages players to progress slowly and see what they can find, setting a more relaxed form of play. Experienced players can also play for a speedrun as the video game offers certain rewards for passing a level quickly. Enjoy the retro gaming action of Alex Kidd in Miracle World for the Sega Master System II.

I'll keep it short and sweet. I've had this game since I was a little boy but I had it built into the Sega Master System II console and thus never had it on a regular single game cartridge (which is what I always wanted) because years later I got a Mega Drive and wanted to play this game on it but never could, (until now that is). It's a very fun early Sega 8-bit game for the Master System, has good music, vibrant clear graphics and solid gameplay and controls. It's just great to know that these rare childhood gems are still available to purchase off such great sites as Ebay, even if it's a game thats more than 30 years old. Thank you.
