Tom Skerrit (BROTHERS & SISTERS) and Kathy Baker (EDWARD SCISSORHANDS) won Emmys for their roles as James and Jill Brock, a couple trying to raise a family in middle America. As sheriff in the small Wisconsin town of Rome, James Brock sees strange things that would shock even big-city cops. The town is a haven for the wacky and weird, and no day is ever boring for its residents. PICKET FENCES also featured the talents of Fyvush Finkel (Kelley's BOSTON PUBLIC), Lauren Holly (DUMB AND DUMBER), and Ray Walston (FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH). This release includes the first season in its entirety, including the show's pilot episode.

There is never a dull moment that occurs between those picket fences!
As I had anticipated, this wonderful television series and award-winning drama brought a big smile to my face as I re-connected with the wonderful actors and most creative "issues" with which they dealt. The setting is in the very small town of Rome, Wisconsin, where you would assume little, if anything of consequence, would happen. BUT, on the contrary, there is never a dull moment. So much seemed to occur within those "picket fences." How wonderful my viewing has been!

Great show. We always loved it. Season 1 easy to find, 2-3-4 harder to find.
We get a chance to love this show again. Yay!! The sad part is, it's quite hard to find the other seasons. Many of the one's I've found, are not for region 1 or are in "German". There are region free DVD players out there for 39.00....and more. Got to be careful not to be cheated.

Funny, Quirky series. I love it!
This is a great series. I have been thinking about it for years and decided to find it on dvd. I am having a problem finding season 3 in region 1 though. Bummer. (To the seller, I am glad you like my town of Placerville)!
