    Awesome power!

I was looking for a Yamaha receiver for a few months to replace our current but older Yamaha. These are great receivers by Yamaha. Far above anything else out there. Needed a receiver to power our Klipsch speakers that give us concert level sound. This RX V2700 does the job. It has great power, sound and using the manual allows you to fine tune your listening experience. If you need a receiver that is powerful and sounds fantastic then look at the RX line very careful. These are super expensive receivers when brand new but you can find great deals on ebay for a Yamaha that is a few years old with similar technology of a new one. When looking for a powerful receiver check the total watts (output) of power on the back. Anything listed below 200 watts will not get the job done. The RX line usually is 400 or more. Now go get one!

Quality Never Goes Out of Style

The Yamaha RX-V2700 is a very capable/versatile receiver with nearly all of the features needed for today's movie and music discs. The only thing missing for my personal use is the capability to process the newer lossless audio codecs (Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD Master Audio, etc), but there is a workaround for that by using the 5.1 multichannel analog audio inputs. The receiver has plenty of power to drive most speakers that would be used in a home theater system and the user menu is easy to use (generally speaking). All in all, it is a great receiver that acquits itself really well and is a pleasure to use.

  • HAPPY to have an old friend back!

This Yamaha RX-V2700 A/V receiver is a REBUY from one I owned over 12 years ago, & this version I bought online was not only a VERY DECENT price for a well-taken-car-of-piece, but as well was negotiable with the owner! I'm VERY familiar with ALL the hookups, & I bought this version of the older Yamaha A/V line as it has provisions for Reel-2-Reel, 2 high-end cassette decks, two high-end turntables, high-end CD player, and a newly purchased Yamaha streamer...after my 1.5 hours to hook everything up, I was NOT at all surprised how HOT the RX-V2700 sounded...JUST like it did 12 years ago, & BETTER with new speakers...SUPERB PURCHASE...THANKS MUCH!

  • This thing is amazing

I had a Yamaha RX v870, and a adcom 555iii that started to die and thought its really time to upgrade. So after lots of looking and trying to find something that had the power I need to power my klipsch epic CF-4, klipsch KG 2.5, klipsch SC.5, and Bose 301 Series III, I came aroused this and some others. But most ether had features I didnt want or need or where way outta my price range. After getting this I tool it outa the box and hook up every thing and didnt do any set-up just hooked it up to my pc via hdmi and turned it all the way up. WOW thats all I can say the sound actually gets better the loader it goes, where as lots of other units will start to loss sound quality up at MAX lv's. I was also surprised that it didnt go into auto protect mode when maxed and didnt even do set up stuff lol. One thing about this unit is if you dont have the remote you wont beable to use this thing fully. Most functions are done through the GUI through a tv. Also to really make things sound amazing you'll need the auto set up mic. In less you are a hardcore audio head then you would get lost in the manual set up I did and think I know my way around this stuff. Over all I just want to say this thing is amazing and powerfull the beautifull sound Yamaha always brings with their powerfull amps to their top of the line produces. This unit came out for over 1700,00 bucks and to get it for 300 with shipping and handling was a steal.

  • Almost perfect

When this came out in 2007 it was state-of-the-art with 3 hdmi inputs and about 9 analog imputs and very serious surround sound capabilities, a USB port and much more. Its original price was $1700. I bought it to replace a 1982 Yamaha A1000 that was then its top-of-the-line and last me only 34 years before dying....
