Peg Perego convertible seat - we love it!
We ordered as a second car seat for my husband's car. We had 1 in my car already, but decided to get the same for both cars. We love it, it is sturdy and both daughters have seemed so comfortable in them! We just transitioned our 5 year old (who is very tall!) to a high-back booster, and we transitioned our infant (11 months old) to the convertible as rear-facing. Be aware that it is a large car seat, and heavy, but both contribute to its perceived safety (to us). It's not the kind of seat you want to be installing and removing - set it and forget it. The latch system works great, for us. We have a small SUV (Mazda CX-5) and a full-size sedan (Mazda6). We place behind passenger seat. In the SUV, there is actually less space than in the sedan - but there is plenty of room to push the seat forward and when we take long trips, I sit in the passenger seat and my (much taller) husband drives. It uses less space in the back when it is forward-facing. Also, note the color. I assumed black but the description clearly says atmosphere. We are not partial to color ourselves, but for anyone who is - just an FYI - the photos are stock photos of the product. This newer version has a more reclined position for the baby. This makes it so that the childs spine is more aligned with the vehicle, and if an accident occurs, the forward force is against the straps, which nearly eliminates whiplash; it also has 3 different areas of adjustable padding, which provide protection from side impacts as well.
