A Kaiju Kult Klassic, as Immense As Godzilla Himself.
An excellent set of DVDs for the Kaiju fan. There is nothing really bad about either disc. The booklet enclosed features the critique and views of only 2 people, when more could be added, but on the whole everything is just what the doctor ordered. The best of both...
The original Gojira was really a great new concept when it came out in 1954. But it was first released in Japan and an attempt was made to convert it to a more “American” version. While the American release was well received, when compared to the original version it wasn’t nearly as good. The film had portions cut out and replaced with cut scenes with Raymond Burr and as a result the movie’s continuity suffers. Two languages
I just wanted to get the Japanese version of Gojira I had lost, but an added surprise was the other two Godzilla movies contain both the English and Japanese versions. Godzilla Raids Again is two versions due to the way the story part is told, though the film part is the same, Godzilla vs Mothra/The Thing is the same, just the languages are different, but a cool extra to have.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Godzilla, what more can I say. It's nice to have the original Japanese Godzilla and the Americanized version. I personally like the original Japanese version. Love the original version
I always thought the American version was missing information and now seeing the original it now makes sense. You do need to read the subtitle but you've seen the movie so many times you don't really need to see the picture except when it's showing the parts that were cut out for the American version. Great movie. One of the very best "Godzilla"s.
*Much* better than the 1956 Americanized version (with Raymond Burr and is also in this package). Not as much of a "monster movie" as a social comment on the prevailing dangers of atomic bomb testing.
