Billy Wilder's classic comedy stars Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis as a pair of unemployed musicians who inadvertently become witnesses to the St. Valentine Day's Massacre. To escape the wrath of the gangsters, Joe (Curtis) and Jerry (Lemmon) are forced to hit the road in drag, taking the only jobs available with an all-girl band bound for Miami. Enroute, both men fall for lead singer and blond bombshell Sugar Kane, (Marilyn Monroe), but are unable to fulfill their desires for fear of revealing their identity. Joe tries to get around this by adopting a third identity for seduction, that of a shy millionaire who sounds strangely like Cary Grant. Meanwhile Jerry has his own problems, fighting off the advances of Osgood E. Fielding, a real millionaire hypnotized by his/her charms.

I'd watch it again. Oh wait I have so I'll watch it again and maybe again. Giving a few years in between.
A classic of slap stick comedy that's fun and fun and silly too. Why not visit this now and again with my 85 year old hubby who's been married to me for 51 years and on occasion with a neighbor who also has fun watching older movies. We set up an outdoor projector on my back yard covered patio last summer to see this. Then we didn't get it watched. WAHHHH. But the plan now is to watch it in the 22 year old RV I've rebuilt once I finish the upholstery work this winter and christian the RV one night with popcorn and watch this movie snuggled in each our own twin beds side by side in the RV as a girls night out. Hubby's don't mind we invited them to our girl friend party and girl flick fun but they decline. Silly guys. However my husband happens to like this movie too. We'll watch it now and again about every 5-7 years along with a few others made back in the 60 and 70's. It's a mad mad world and around the world in 80 days. That kind of silly but fun slap stick romp. This actually may have more depth. Anyway it's a classic and it'll out live all it's creators, writers, actors. I think it already has. No ones making any of these today. They should. Yes they now and again make a stab at it like Night at the Museum, American Treasure etc. If you like these old comedy romps sit back get the popcorn ready and just escape for a few minutes.
