    Great tool

Yes. A great product no mistake. IF you need a 100W soldering iron that is. Turns out I didn't because I wanted to work on a few dodgy TV pcbs and blown capacitors. This soldering iron is about 10 inches long and too big for accurate work on electrical component boards. It's also too hot and vaporizes the solder. So i will keep this for plumbing. It will be ideal for that. When I realized this I bought a Draper 40W soldering iron. That's ideal for pcb work. Just the right size and temperature. So if you are looking for a soldering iron to work on electronics that's what I recommend. Obviously, had I known this beforehand I would have gone straight for the 40W iron. I read later, after buying the 100W one, that most electricians go for something between 40W and 60W. I should have done that research first i guess. Still, the 100W iron is a really great tool. Top quality. I do a lot of plumbing anyway so it will come in handy. I have posted a pic of the 100W next to the 40W so you can see the difference in size. Hope this helps.

  • Most critical review

Adequate and reasonably priced but has design weaknesses

The tool attains its working temperature quickly and does the job, but the supplied stand is flimsy and it is easy for the device to slip off and come into contact with surfaces and objects which are not heat resistant. This effect is made worse by the stiffness of the electrical lead which can apply an unintended force sufficient to dislodge it from its stand in response to a small unintentional contact with the user's clothing or some other movable item. Without a better-designed and heavier stand there is a very obvious fire or injury risk in using this tool. The stiffness of the lead also interferes with positioning the tip accurately in normal use.

  • Good but...

Bought this as I was fed up with low power soldering irons for electrical connections. Main shaft glows hot and it works well but... with rounded tip supplied, it was still a little slow melting the solder. I think I probably need to get a flat ended tip to give greater contact. Apart from that, heats up fairly quickly and does the job.

  • Works well! 😈👍

Well if you're looking for a hot soldering iron then look no further. This does the job. Although the tip is a bit bit for those fiddly jobs. It's more than up to the task of larger work. I had mine on for several hours and it worked well on what I was doing. Get one. You won't be disappointed.

  • Constant temperature?

Whole soldering iron gets red hot, it really glows! I found it impossible to tin the tip. Not much good for anything really.

  • Draper 100w soldering iron

Good quality tool, larger than I had thought but worked well. It came with a handy stand which was helpful.

  • It's okay

It's an okay soldering iron. Gets really hot but so does the handle. I'd probably only recommend this for someone who only has to do the odd little bit of soldering.

  • Soldering Iron

Heats up quick, on for any length off time handle gets bit hot better with more insulation, but good for money
