All the Young Dudes - the classic Mott the Hoople line-up!
I have been a Mott fan since 1973 and now regret taking so long to buy this album in any shape or form.
This edition is a wonderful remaster and with seven bonus tracks, so it has to be taken as the definitive version.
'All the Young Dudes' certainly bears comparison with the post-breakthrough (though not very imaginatively named) 'Mott' and 'The Hoople', particularly since this is effectively the classic line-up. Organist Verden Allen was still with the band, as was lead guitarist Mick Ralphs, who left after 'Mott'. Both were integral members of the band and it was never going to be the same without them.
Look out in particular for the version of the title track with guide vocal from David Bowie, included here as a bonus track.
Very informative cover notes too! .
