Street Supremacy for PSP is an urban racing game from the developers of the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. While most games in the genre involve competing against opponents on a linear progression of tracks, the goal is Street Supremacy is slightly different. Tokyo's nighttime city highways that serve as the game's backdrop are home to 15 different zones, each of which is controlled by a street-racing team. The object is for players to conquer all 15 zones by defeating rivals, acquiring their vehicles, and defending the territory from new challengers. As in the developer's previous racing titles, races between vehicles are initiated by flashing the high beams after tailing a rival, and they are won by depleting the competition's spirit points. Falling behind a rival or taking too much damage will gradually diminish spirit points until they reach zero, at which point the race ends. Street Supremacy features 25 licensed cars from such auto manufacturers as Subaru, Nissan, and Mitsubishi, each customizable with an assortment of high-performance parts and paint jobs. Two-player battles are also supported using the handheld's wireless function.
