Tough & well made. Slow close a bit too slow. Prices can vary greatly, shop around.
A bit fiddly to install but OK. Release feature great takes a little getting used to. Release always in 90 degree vertical plane only for ease of replacement. Well made plus looks & feels expensive. Not amazing but a nice quiet close
I thougt this was going to be amazing as it was recommended but it was flimsier than I expected and not a brilliant fit. I like the quiet close with four boys in the house constantly slamming lids up and down, but the quick release feature is unnecessary (I have never before wanted to remove the lid to clean the loo!) and we can't quite seem to get it to fit properly even though we followed the fitting instructions. Certainly " NOT " the best
Having recently purchased a similar item from B & Q, which was, admittedly £10 more expensive, I was "very dissapointed " in this purchase. Costing only £19.99, yes it is value for money, but the quality is far from what I expected. Firstly, there are no fitting instructions. To the novice this will prove a problem. The one purchased from B & Q had all the instructions / diagrams required, and were in english. Fittings were 1st class and only took me about 10 minuted to assemble, and worked 1st time This one ( even though I knew how to assemble it ) took me in excess of 30 minutes to get working properly....the fittings were very poor quality indeed and I have found it TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE to tighted them up enough so the toilet seat does not continually move about when one is seated on it. All this said, I would suggest to anyone reading this, save your money and pay that bit extra and go to B & Q, far better quality and you will have no problems in the build / quality. Great seat but the fittings are weak
I have fitted numerous of these seats over the years working in the care home environment. The seat itself has proofed to be durable, removable and very well made. They are secure by a blind fitting which is an excellent idea. However the fitting supplied have a nylon base that the anchor screw tightens down onto the blind anchors. The problem is the nylon is slippy and the screw head bites in, quickly making the seat loose. The more you tighten the screw, the more it bites in and eventually they give way. eBay sell these fittings with a metal base which cures this problem and holds the seat rock solid. I have changed most of my seat fitting for the after market ones. Until now! The seat manufacturers have changed the diameter of the stems that the seat itself fixes to from about 8mm to 5mm. 8mm being the normal for most of these type of seats. But I can't get the metal based fitting with 5mm stems. So I can't tighten the newer model seats as the nylon slips and works loose! Till the manufacturers makes them from metal, or there is some after market ones in metal, better to avoid this seat. Look for a similar seat with 8mm stems and get some after market metal fittings.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap & nasty
They say you get what you pay for and we did indeed. I stupidly thought a toilet seat is a toilet seat they’re all the same, this toilet seat however is cheap and is only good enough for the bin. Fixed onto toilet but it’s far from secure, infact it moves every time someone sits on it. The seat is a lovely clean white but is extremely uncomfortable, it feels like you’re sitting on the actual toilet rather than a toilet seat. The ‘soft close’ however is as described and this is really the only good thing about this particular toilet seat. An absolute waste of money and I’ve already been to B&Q to buy a decent seat. Cheap and Nasty!
Bought this to replace a similar quick release, soft close toilet seat that was originally bought from Wickes' many years ago. This Roper Rhodes looked identical to the old toilet seat in the picture, but upon arrival I soon saw that it wasn't. The cheapness was quickly noticed. Thin seat and wrongly sized connectors that wouldn't fit to my toilet bowl. The seat does not remain in the 'Up' position and it literally takes five-minutes for it to close by itself.
