Product Information

Set in 18th Century London this is a sombre adaptation of the story of the infamous barber 'Sweeney Todd' of Fleet Street. The barber has set up shop in his home in Fleet Street and all seems quite normal until he shaves one of the prison wardens at Newgate Prison. Their conversation seems to trigger something in Sweeney Todd's mind and unlocks a demon that he cannot escape. The Bow Street Runners start to investigate when body parts turn up in the river, customers go missing and Mrs Lovett's pie shop next door is selling a lot of meat pies...

    Authentic film with a great actor of Ray Winstone

    I bought this as it was advertised as a Tom Hardy film. Disappointing for me as it was an early film for him and he had a small part amounting to about 10 minutes in total. The key actor of Ray Winstone is brilliant as Sweeney Todd. Parts of the film are a bit blood thirsty but essential to the film. Very atmospheric and really detailed set making the whole film authentic. Even though Tom was hardly in the film I still feel it is great.
