True depiction of a woman's life and struggles!!
So sad to see this is still the case today where we women need to be careful and take advice from the experienced elders who know more and care for us and want us to make the best decisions. She didnt listen to her aunt and lived a horrific abusive life with a man that she thought she loved. She continued to put up with it and made her son suffer too. So cruel. After many years she decides to escape with her son when they are mentally scarred... She should have left him as soon as she knew he was a bad man and he pretended he loved her, but I suppose then it wouldnt show what women had to and still go through. Think they need to now make a film of a woman who is strong and doesnt put up with all this abuse from her husband. You cant love a man like this. Leave him!! And for God's sake, DONT go back to him like she did!! You could enjoy a happier life earlier and not right at the end risking losing the one that truly does love you.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Just read the book so I then usually watch the film to see how close it is to the book. In this case fairly close, with a couple of additions that aren’t in the book.
