Prevention is always better than cure.
Every year, late Autumn just before the winter I always put some stabiliser In all my 4, and 2 stroke garden machinery. The result is much better starting next season. If any fuel is left in the jerry can, usually about a gallon or thereabouts, a drop of stabiliser wouldn't go amiss, prevention is always better than cure.
