    Good but not perfect box set

    The Outer Limits 1995 reboot was a really good series. It won all sorts of awards and lasted seven seasons. It was originally an "R" rated cable series on the Showtime network for the first six seasons. In anticipation of the series eventually being shown in syndication on regular TV, "PG13" versions of the episodes were filmed, eliminating nudity and other adult material. In this DVD collection only the first two seasons appear to be the original Showtime "R" rated broadcasts. Seasons 3-7 are the "PG13" syndicated versions. Picture quality is DVD sharp for the first two seasons but becomes a bit softer in subsequent seasons. That said, this is probably the best collection of this material we can expect 25 years after the fact. It is totally watchable and, considering that it is 42 DVDs, a good value and worth the price.

    A great alternative to the real dvd set

    An amazing fake reprint of the original release. I own the first two seasons and it's really obvious the original case, discs, and boxart are much cleaner, and sturdier. For something that's been remade, it stays super loyal even though the cases will need to be replaced. instead of having the discs episode lists being printed on the disc it's been added on like a sticker BUT the quality of the episodes are just as nice as the real disc. I wish it was listed as a reprint, but overall it's nice to have all of the seasons in one go.

    Lots of Entertainment for the Sci-Fi Enthusiast

    All episodes uncut and in order of seasons/release dates. Quality of audio very good. Video good, somewhat grainy. The discs are double layer and have ample capacity to hold standard definition files without compression that can cause graininess. Each disc is labeled only with season number and disc number. There is no accompanying printed documentation to provide episode titles, their synopses and locations on the set of 42 discs. It was a four day project to create "List of Episodes & their Summaries" and "Disc Guide" PDF files for onscreen display, essential for efficient navigation and playback. An added note: Discs are region-free and have absolutely no copyright protection, yet carry a foreign government inspired anti-piracy warning. Hard to explain that.

    A Classic TV series

    Excellent sci-fi series with a moral question in every story. This series dealt with many things that are no longer fiction: cloning, genetic engineering, supercomputers and AI. Lots of actors who are now very well known on TV and in movies are in these episodes.

    Great series, great DVD set!

    Great DVD transfer; the sound is also good. This version is rated M, not the PG that is also out there for sale, which I think is better as it limits the editing and some scenes which I think are important to the plots. All around a great value for a very good series. Thanks again!

    Awesome 90's tv science fiction series'.

    I remember watching these programs soon after they came out in 1995 and found them very entertaining and thought provoking. The discs are US tv based ( ie NTSC tv system; we are PAL in the UK ), so you should check before you order, that your player enables NTSC recordings playback, ( found under ' connections ' in my Panasonic recorder ).
