A Childhood Favourite!
As a kid, I stood in the queue to see this film, and the cut off point was just before me! I stood there with everyone else waiting for the next showing. The film I saw was the American dub with the kids starting out at the Museum of Natural History in New York - and this is included on the disk, but the most remarkable thing is the original Czech film where the boys are in search of a trilobite and go through a cave. I think the American version was taking the mick making fun of their hats (particularly a certain beret) and it also changed the ending. ANYWAY, there are some superb extras, you really should make sure you watch them all! Now I can't wait to go to the Karel Zeman museum in Prague (where taking photos and videos is encouraged), and for those not in the know, he was the very talented visionary behind the film. A childhood favourite, now mine for the keeping.
