Does a very good job
I've only tried this once so far but it worked great. I sprayed the helmet and left for a few moments before wiping it off with a fibre cloth. The bugs lifted off the helmet and it dried well without leaving any smears. There is also a locking mechanism to avoid unwanted spraying making it ideal to carry with you on longer trips.
