Great speaker for listening to music, wireless setup & integration with other speakers is excellent.

Speaker sounds fantastic, setup went smoothly, wireless music streaming & syncing with other speakers in my house is amazing. However, there is a 75 ms delay on any & all 3.5mm Auxiliary inputs. If you are also planning using this as a speaker for your computer or as an amp for a guitar, bass, DJ equipment, or other instrument with the 3.5 mm input, just be aware that the audio will be delayed an appreciable amount. Most PC applications have solutions to delay the video by a set amount (75 ms in this case), but if you want to use this speaker hooked up to an instrument, there is a significant amount of input lag that does not match the notes you are playing. I.E., if you pick a note on guitar, you will not hear the sound output until 75 ms later, or about 1/32 note @ 100 beats/minute)

Only marginally better than the Play:3

I have 8 Play:3 speakers in my home and a few Play:1 speakers. They are all phenomenal sounding. So I jumped on a great deal for a Play:5 speaker hoping to get much better sound and deeper lows due to the larger drivers. Sadly it is only slightly better sounding than a Play:3 speaker. Because I was able to buy it for the price of a Play:3 used I am happy with it. but I would never buy one new as the price difference and larger size only delivers marginally better sound. It's the first Sonos product that I though was not worth it's retail new price.

  • I love Sonos!!

I love the entire Sonos line and design. They are well made, sound great, and easy to set up and network. The flexibility of being able to listen to home wide or broken down into smaller zones easily is amazing. They are a bit spendier than most other systems, but I think they are worth it.

  • Almost perfect...

Without a doubt, the Play:5 is as good a speaker as my ears have ever heard. I now have a pair that I have set up in my office for stereo listening. It's fault? The original Play:5 is not surround sound capable. Given that Sonos designed the Play:3 speaker to be set up in the surround sound mode, I think the Gen 1 version of the Play:5 that followed the Play:3 should have had that capability as well. Sonos finally did get around to modifying the Play:5 Gen 2 with surround sound capability, but at a heftier price. I'll keep my Play:3s for that purpose.

  • Happy with my purchase of a used but well-maintained item

Sonos is a terrific product so if you can find a deal, you're better off. eBay's typical price of $250 or so beats the Sonos list price of $500. I've bought several Sonos One's and Five's from both Sonos and eBay. I have found that the one from eBay are in like-new condition, but always read the description.

  • Perfect Sound System

If you enjoy hearing great musical sound anywhere you choose in your home, you'll love the Sonos wireless system including the Play 5 speaker. Top quality wireless drivers/speakers in a convenient portable configuration for placement anywhere you wish, make this product a critical component of a Sonos distributed wireless sound system. Using your home's existing wireless network and downloaded Sonos software, you can control content and placement of beautiful music anywhere in your home. Purchasing a used Play 5 in good shape, makes it a reasonable investment and a good value. Add another Play 5 and a subwoofer and you've got one of the best sound systems available that even most audiophiles will appreciate.

  • High Quality Audio Worth Auditioning.

Very nice speaker!! I am pleased with the sound quality and solid product build of the Sonos Play 5, Gen 2. I highly recommend auditioning this speaker system.

  • Great Product

Sonos makes a good product. A little expensive, but the sound quality is good. I use their products with Spotify and Pandora. They seemlessly integrate. It automatically switches to line-in input (you can turn this off), which I like because it turns off my music as soon as I turn on the tv. Grouping the speakers is easy whether you want a stereo pair or just multiple speakers/rooms having the same output. You can also set alarms, which I use to automatically play music when I wake up and get home from work.

  • Great Speakers

I have four Sonos speakers, all Gen 1, and they look and sound great. They work well with the S1 app from my phone (iOS) and I had no trouble setting them up with instructions from the Sonos web site. The used Gen 1's are less than half the cost of new Gen 2's and I believe they sound just as good.

  • Sonos Play:5 rocks

Unbelievable sound. I already have the Play:3 and this blows the 3 out the door. Setup is on your wifi network. You can use a 1/8" plug but then it's analog and it's not the same sound quality. Amazing how Sonos was able to cram 6 separate drivers with an amplifier driving each speaker into this enclosure. Sounds better than anything that's comparable in size but so much cheaper than the Devialet Phanton and so much more practical. You really need to hear the 5 because once you do, you'll buy it. No distortion and the bass is amazing without a separate subwoofer.
